Booking choice: The Hello India 4-day tour, from $160 per person. Check dates Compare the options below
The loop from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur and back is about 740 km whichever tour you pick. On four days that distance is spread over three driving days; on three days you drive it in the same number of days you sightsee.
Below: the 3-day India Caravan tour against the four-day tours, and the one-day sunrise trip for travellers who only want the Taj Mahal.
The quick answer
Book four days if you can: you get a full day in Jaipur, time for Fatehpur Sikri and less driving per day, from $99 per person. The 3-day tour (listed at $200, with monument fees included) works if you are short on time and accept long days. If you only want the Taj, the sunrise day trip from Delhi does it in about 12 hours.
How do 3 days, 4 days and a day trip compare?
Four days is the balanced option; three days fits the highlights but squeezes Jaipur; one day covers only Agra.
| 3-day tour | 4-day tours | Sunrise day trip | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cities | Delhi, Agra, Jaipur | Delhi, Agra, Jaipur | Agra only |
| Nights | 2 (hotel option) | 3 (hotel option on most) | None |
| Jaipur | Morning of day 3, then 5 h to Delhi | A full day | Not visited |
| Fatehpur Sikri | Not listed | On several tours | Not listed |
| Entry fees | Included | Extra on most | Included with the tickets option |
| From | $200 | $99 to $175 | $120 |
Only three days? The India Caravan tour includes the monument tickets.
Check dates for the 3-day tourWhat do you lose on a 3-day tour?
Mostly Jaipur time and the stops between cities: the 3-day itinerary drops Fatehpur Sikri, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar.
The India Caravan tour covers Delhi's sights and the drive to Agra on day 1, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort before driving to Jaipur on day 2, and on day 3 Panna Meena ka Kund, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal and Patrika Gate before about five hours back to Delhi. That is a lot to fit into one morning in Jaipur.

How much driving is there per day?
About the same total of 13 to 15 hours, but on three days instead of four, so every day includes a long drive.
Delhi to Agra is about 233 km (3.5 to 4.5 hours), Agra to Jaipur about 238 km (4.5 to 5.5 hours) and Jaipur to Delhi about 268 km (5 to 6 hours). On the four-day tours, day 3 in Jaipur has no long drive at all; on the 3-day tour there is no such day.

Is the 3-day tour cheaper?
Not at its regular price: it is listed at $200 per person, more than most four-day tours, though it includes monument fees and it had a sale price of $100 when we checked in October 2026.
Because entry fees are included, compare it with a four-day tour plus roughly $60 to $70 of monument tickets. Hotels are an option for the two nights, with breakfast. Guests on this tour praise the drivers and describe the guides as open about entry costs.

Short on days but want the tickets sorted? The 3-day tour includes monument fees and a guide in each city.
Explore the 3-day tourWhat does the fourth day add?
A full, unhurried day in Jaipur, and on several tours Fatehpur Sikri on the road from Agra.
Hello India and Creative India add Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's abandoned capital, and Driver India adds the Chand Baori step well at Abhaneri too. In Jaipur you get Amber Fort, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal without watching the clock. See the 4-day itinerary for each day.

What if you only have one day?
Take the private sunrise trip from Delhi: the Taj Mahal at sunrise and Agra Fort in about 12 hours, back the same evening.
It is rated 4.9 from 1,580 reviews. Guests report pickups around 3 AM, so it is a long day, and the Taj is closed on Fridays. It suits a layover or a short business trip; it does not include Jaipur.

Only one free day? The sunrise trip covers the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with your own car and guide.
Explore the sunrise day tripCould you do it by train instead?
For Agra, yes: the Vande Bharat train from Hazrat Nizamuddin reaches Agra Cantt in about 1 hour 40 minutes.
That makes a do-it-yourself day in Agra realistic. For the full loop, the private car wins on convenience: no station transfers, your luggage stays in the car, and you can stop at Fatehpur Sikri on the way to Jaipur.

So which should you book?
Four days if you have them, three if you do not, and the day trip if the Taj is all you need.
- First trip to India, 4 days free: a four-day private tour.
- Only a long weekend: the 3-day tour with fees included.
- One day or a layover: the sunrise day trip.
- Want wildlife too: the Ranthambore version, see the Ranthambore guide.

Is 3 days enough for Delhi, Agra and Jaipur?
Enough for the highlights, with long days. You lose most of a day in Jaipur and stops like Fatehpur Sikri.
Is 5 days better than 4?
More days mean slower sightseeing, but the tours compared here are three- and four-day tours; four days covers the main sights with a guide in each city.
Can I see the Taj Mahal and Jaipur in one day?
Not sensibly: Delhi to Agra is about 233 km and Agra to Jaipur another 238 km. Choose the Taj day trip, or a tour of 3 days or more.
