The Maria Tours route drives from Agra to Sawai Madhopur, the town at the gates of Ranthambore National Park, instead of straight to Jaipur. You sleep there, go on a safari the next day, then continue to Jaipur.
It is rated 4.9 from 471 reviews and costs from $246 per person, with hotels included. Here is how the four days work.
The quick answer
The tour visits Delhi on day 1, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort on day 2 before driving about 4 hours to Ranthambore, a safari in a shared canter with a naturalist on day 3 before driving to Jaipur, and Jaipur on day 4 before returning to Delhi. It includes hotels, breakfasts and the safari; monument fees are extra. The safari slot depends on permits, and the price of the safari is less Jaipur and no Fatehpur Sikri.
How does the tour fit Ranthambore into four days?
It adds a night in Sawai Madhopur between Agra and Jaipur and moves Jaipur's sightseeing to the last day.
| Day | What happens | Overnight |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Delhi: Bangla Sahib, Jama Masjid, Khari Baoli, Connaught Place, Humayun's Tomb; drive to Agra | Agra |
| 2 | Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Baby Taj; about 4 hours to Sawai Madhopur | Ranthambore |
| 3 | Safari of about 3 hours; about 4 hours to Jaipur | Jaipur |
| 4 | Jaigarh Fort, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal; about 5 hours to Delhi (or drop in Jaipur) | Home |
Want tigers with your Taj? The Ranthambore tour builds the safari into four days.
Check dates for the Ranthambore tourWhat is the safari like?
You ride in a shared canter, an open safari truck, with an English-speaking naturalist, for about three hours in the park.
A canter carries more people than a small jeep, so it is more sociable and less private than the rest of the tour. The naturalist explains the park and spots the wildlife; the driver and your tour guide wait outside. Tigers are the headline, but no safari can guarantee one.

Tempted by the jungle? The tour includes the shared canter, a naturalist and hotels with breakfast.
Explore the Ranthambore tourIs the safari time guaranteed?
No. The safari slot depends on permits, and a guest reports that their morning safari was moved to an afternoon slot because no morning tickets were left.
They did not want an afternoon safari and then a night drive to Jaipur, so the company arranged a safari near Jaipur that afternoon instead, which they described as nice. Book early, ask the operator which slot you have, and decide in advance what you would prefer if it changes.

What do you give up for the safari?
Time in Jaipur and Delhi: Jaipur shrinks to the morning of the last day, and Fatehpur Sikri and the Qutub Minar are not on the itinerary.
On the classic four-day tours Jaipur gets a full day; here you see Jaigarh, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal and then face about five hours to Delhi. There is also more driving overall, with two stretches of about four hours on days 2 and 3. Compare it with the standard loop in the 4-day itinerary.

When can you go on safari in Ranthambore?
In the dry season: the park's core zones close for the monsoon from July to September and reopen in October.
October to March pairs well with the best weather for the rest of the Golden Triangle. April to June is very hot, but guests often find wildlife easier to spot near water then. Safaris run in a morning and an afternoon slot.
What is included and what is not?
Included: the car, pickup and drop-off in Delhi NCR, guides in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, the naturalist, hotels with breakfast and the shared canter. Not included: monument entrances, lunch and tips.
Hotels come in three tiers: in Ranthambore, Ranthambore National (3 star), Regenta (4 star) or Bookmark (5 star), and in Agra and Jaipur the same Golden Tulip, Marriott or Jaypee Palace and 7 Apple, Fern Residency or DoubleTree tiers as other tours, each "or similar". Budget roughly $60 to $70 per adult for monument tickets on top.

From $246 per person, against $99 to $175 for the classic four-day tours, but hotels and the safari are included.
Most classic tours quote their from-price without hotels, so the real gap is smaller than it looks once you add three nights. Like the others, the price per person falls as your group grows. See what a tour really costs for the full breakdown.
